The suspect, alleged to have stabbed his girlfriend during an argument at home at midnight in Avcılar, Istanbul, chased the woman who ran into the street to ask for help and stabbed her a second time. The suspect, who was waiting by the ambulance, fled when he advanced on bystanders; police detained him while he was sitting in a coffeehouse near the apartment building where the incident occurred. The woman, who was reported to be in life-threatening condition, was taken to hospital.
In Avcılar, allegedly, a person who stabbed his girlfriend, with whom he had argued at home, chased the fleeing woman and stabbed her again in the middle of the street. The person waiting by the ambulance with a knife in his hand was chased away by those around.
The incident occurred at around 00:30 last night on Hamza Yerlikaya Street in the Cihangir Neighborhood of Avcılar district. According to the allegation, a person stabbed the woman, with whom he had argued at home, multiple times. The woman, who fled outside in desperation, was also attacked with a knife in the street. Nearby citizens who noticed the situation intervened. After the ambulance arrived, the person waiting at the scene was chased away by those around. Following the report, numerous police teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured woman was taken to the hospital after first aid. While it was learned that the woman was in life-threatening danger, the police launched an investigation into the incident.
AFTER THE ATTACK, HE WENT TO A COFFEEHOUSE AND SAT DOWN
Police teams that took action after the incident came to the business in question following the allegation that the fleeing person was seen in a coffeehouse near the apartment building where the incident occurred. It was learned that the attacker was detained by the police while he was sitting in the coffeehouse.
I HEARD A SCREAM, A WOMAN HAD BEEN STABBED
Neighborhood resident Soner Altunal, describing those moments, said, "I heard a scream at home. I went out onto the balcony; people had gathered here. At that moment, two young boys started running downstairs, cursing at someone. They ran about 150 meters but could not catch him. One young boy ran away and left. After that, the police came. The ambulance came. A woman had been stabbed. They took her and went to the hospital."
