22-year-old cook Esmanur Polat, who was severely injured after falling from the 5th-floor terrace of the hotel where she worked in Istanbul's Beyoğlu district, lost her life at the hospital where she was taken. In the investigation launched into the incident, it was determined that the terrace floor from which the young woman fell was unlicensed, while the prosecutor's office reported that the incident is being investigated from all angles.
In an incident that occurred in Istanbul's Beyoğlu district, 22-year-old Esmanur Polat, who had been working as a chef at a hotel for about a year, fell from the fifth-floor terrace area of the hotel where she was employed. The seriously injured young woman could not be saved despite all medical interventions at the hospital she was taken to.
SHE LOST HER BATTLE FOR LIFE AT THE HOSPITAL
The incident occurred on Friday, July 17, around 12:00 AM, in Galata Şahkulu Mahallesi. Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Esmanur Polat, who received initial treatment at the scene, was taken to Taksim Training and Research Hospital by ambulance. Despite undergoing surgery, the young woman succumbed to her injuries.
HEAD WAITER'S STATEMENT EMERGED
In the investigation conducted by police teams, head waiter Mustafa T., who was at the hotel during the incident, was questioned. It was learned that Mustafa T. stated he tried to persuade Esmanur Polat, with whom he had been working for about a year, on the terrace but was unsuccessful.
UNLICENSED TERRACE FLOOR DETAIL
Teams inspecting the scene determined that while the hotel had an operating license, the terrace floor where the incident occurred was unlicensed. The prosecutor's office launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident that resulted in Esmanur Polat's death.
