A truck that entered Turkey through the Hamzabeyli Border Gate was subjected to an X-ray scan following a drug tip-off. During a search of the vehicle conducted by police and customs officials, 121 kilograms and 900 grams of skunk were seized, hidden among the legal cargo. Within the scope of the operation, the truck driver, H.A., was taken into custody.

In the drug operation carried out at Hamzabeyli Border Gate, 121 kilograms and 900 grams of skunk were found in the trailer of a TIR entering Turkey. The driver of the vehicle, H.A., was taken into custody.

DRUG TIP-OFF MOBILIZED TEAMS

Teams from the Edirne Provincial Police Department's Anti-Narcotics Branch Directorate received a tip that a TIR coming to Turkey via Bulgaria contained drugs. Following the tip, the teams launched an operation targeting the TIR that would enter the country through Hamzabeyli Border Gate. After the vehicle driven by H.A. entered the border gate, it was directed to an X-ray scan in the customs area for control purposes.

SEARCH CONDUCTED IN THE TIR'S TRAILER

After the X-ray inspection, police teams and customs officers carried out a detailed search of the TIR. The examinations were particularly focused on the trailer section of the vehicle. During the search, drugs hidden inside the legal cargo carried in the trailer were found. As a result of the teams' work, it was determined that the hidden substances were skunk.

121 KILOGRAMS 900 GRAMS OF SKUNK SEIZED

After all the drugs were removed, it was determined that 121 kilograms and 900 grams of skunk had been seized as a result of the measurement. The drugs were confiscated by the teams. The operation was carried out at Hamzabeyli Border Gate, one of Turkey's important crossing points on the Bulgarian border.

TIR DRIVER H.A. TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

After the drugs were found in the vehicle, the TIR driver H.A. was taken into custody by police teams. The suspect was taken to the police station for processing. It was stated that H.A. would be referred to the courthouse after the procedures at the police station were completed.
