The second hearing of the case of 14-month-old İkra, who was attacked with a child's scooter by their neighbor Şener E. while in her father Muhammet Baca's arms in the Çınarcık district of Yalova and whose skull was fractured, was held. The court decided that the defendant's judicial control should continue, ordered that video recordings related to the incident be requested, and ruled that the father be referred to Forensic Medicine; it rejected the request for the 12-year-old child to be heard as a witness.

The trial of the defendant who attacked a father and daughter with whom he had a feud, using a scooter, in the Çınarcık district of Yalova continued.

A FEUD THAT BEGAN WITH CHILDREN'S NOISE

In the Esenköy town of Çınarcık, numerous arguments broke out between the Baca family, who had four children and moved into a house they bought a year earlier, and the E. family, who lived in the same building, over issues such as children's noise, parking, and illegal building structures. In the latest incident on February 20, Muhammet Baca (34) and his 14-month-old daughter İkra, whom he was holding in his arms, were attacked by Şener E. with a child's scooter. In the attack, the father's nose was broken, while his 14-month-old child İkra, whom he was holding, suffered a fractured skull.

The defendant Şener E., who was on trial over the incident, was present at the second hearing of the case held at the Yalova 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance. The defendant Ş.E., who had been released at the previous hearing under judicial control conditions, stated that he repeated his previous statements and requested acquittal. The defendant's lawyers also requested the removal of judicial control measures.

FATHER REQUESTS CAMERA FOOTAGE AND WITNESSES

Speaking at the hearing, Muhammet Baca requested that the camera footage mentioned by the gendarmerie personnel previously heard in connection with the incident be added to the case file. Baca stated that one of the eyewitnesses who saw the incident had moved out of the neighborhood and requested an investigation into whether this person had been threatened. Baca also requested that his 12-year-old child, who was with him during the incident, be heard as a witness.

Baca's lawyer Derya Ateş, on the other hand, stated that the file contained only vehicle dashcam footage belonging to Muhammet Baca and requested that footage from other surrounding building cameras also be added to the file to clarify the incident. Ateş also requested that the case be evaluated within the scope of "attempted intentional homicide" and sent to the High Criminal Court.

REFERRAL TO FORENSIC MEDICINE, JUDICIAL CONTROL CONTINUES

The court decided that the judicial control measures against the defendant would continue. The court, ruling that a letter be written to the Esenköy Gendarmerie Command, where the incident occurred, to request the specified video recordings, decided that Muhammet Baca be referred to the Forensic Medicine Institute to determine whether the injuries he sustained posed a life-threatening danger.

The court rejected the request for the 12-year-old child to be heard as a witness and postponed the hearing to a later date.
