A bankruptcy ruling was issued for SER Mekatronik, which operates in the Çorlu district of Tekirdağ and exports textile machinery to many countries around the world. The concordat process of the company, founded in 2008 and which two years ago took action for a new 14,500-square-meter factory investment, ended in bankruptcy. The court ruled that the company’s bankruptcy be opened as of October 20, 2026.
Operating in the Çorlu district of Tekirdağ, one of Turkey's important industrial centers, SER Mechatronics Industry and Trade Limited Company went bankrupt after financial difficulties. The company, which operated in international markets with machines and engineering solutions developed for the textile sector, could not overcome its financial problems during the concordat process. The Tekirdağ Commercial Court of First Instance ruled for the company's bankruptcy.
THE COURT ISSUED THE BANKRUPTCY DECISION
In the concordat process initiated by SER Mekatronik due to its financial problems, a temporary grace period was first granted in September 2025. Then, the court granted the company a one-year final grace period valid as of 23 November 2025. With the announcement published in February 2026, creditors were invited to report their claims, while the hearing of the case was postponed to 17 November 2026.
However, the process accelerated after the fifth interim report submitted by the concordat commissioner committee on 12 October. Bringing the hearing date forward, the court decided to open SER Mekatronik's bankruptcy as of 20 October 2026.
CONCORDAT REQUESTS OF TWO INDIVIDUALS REJECTED
Within the scope of the case, the concordat requests of Hakan Çakar and Necati Arslan were also evaluated. The court rejected the requests of the two individuals and did not issue a separate bankruptcy decision for them because they are real persons not subject to bankruptcy.
An appeal can be filed with the Tekirdağ Regional Court of Justice within two weeks from the date of notification against the decision.
WAS FOUNDED IN 2008
SER Mekatronik was founded in 2008 in Çorlu to provide service, automation and software services for textile finishing machines. Over time, expanding its production capacity, the company began developing sueding, fabric shearing, brushing, sanding, stenter machines and sanforizing lines.
The company, which produces technologies for processing woven, knitted and nonwoven fabrics, operated in international textile markets as well as in Turkey.
TWO YEARS BEFORE BANKRUPTCY, IT LAID THE FOUNDATION OF A HUGE FACTORY
The company's investment move before its bankruptcy also drew attention. In August 2024, the foundation of its new 14,500-square-meter factory facility was laid in the Velimeşe Organized Industrial Zone. The facility was targeted to become operational in 2025 and to bring all company units together under one roof.
SER Mekatronik was exporting textile machines to many countries such as the USA, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Honduras, Poland, Bulgaria, Belarus, Egypt, Morocco, Russia, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, India, Vietnam, South Korea and Indonesia.
IT HAD DRAWN ATTENTION TO THE STAGNATION IN THE GLOBAL MARKET
The company's General Manager Uğur Küçükzeyrek had drawn attention to the stagnation in both global and local markets in his previous assessments. The company, which entered the concordat process to overcome its financial problems, entered bankruptcy proceedings after 18 years of operation with the court's decision.
