The number of employed individuals increased by 95,000 in September 2024 compared to the previous month, reaching 32 million 823 thousand, and the employment rate increased by 0.1 points to 49.7%. This rate was 67.3% for men and 32.5% for women.

LABOR FORCE PARTICIPATION RATE WAS 54.4%

The labor force increased by 131,000 in September 2024 compared to the previous month, reaching 35 million 923 thousand, and the labor force participation rate increased by 0.2 points to 54.4%. The labor force participation rate was 72.1% for men and 37.0% for women.

SEASONALLY ADJUSTED UNEMPLOYMENT RATE AMONG YOUNG POPULATION WAS 17.1%

The unemployment rate among the young population aged 15-24 increased by 0.3 points compared to the previous month, reaching 17.1%. The unemployment rate in this age group was estimated to be 13.5% for men and 24.0% for women.

WEEKLY AVERAGE ACTUAL WORKING TIME WAS 42.7 HOURS

The weekly average actual working time of those employed during the reference period, adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, remained the same compared to the previous month, at 42.7 hours in September 2024.

UNDERUTILIZED LABOR FORCE RATE WAS 25.6%

The rate of underutilized labor force, consisting of time-related underemployment, potential labor force, and unemployed individuals, decreased by 1.7 points compared to the previous month, reaching 25.6% in September 2024. The combined rate of time-related underemployment and unemployed individuals was 17.3%, while the combined rate of unemployed and potential labor force was estimated to be 17.9%.
