The father, Hakan Akcan, who was brought from Torbalı Open Prison, attended the funeral under the security measures taken by the gendarmerie. Father Akcan laid his head on the coffins, which he kissed one by one. During the funeral prayer held after the afternoon prayer, the gendarmerie removed the handcuffs from the father's wrists. The mother, Melisa Akcan, who was detained after the incident, was also taken to the mosque under police supervision to attend her children's funeral. The mother, who fell ill while being brought to the mosque, was taken to Selçuk State Hospital by police teams. After the prayer led by İzmir Provincial Mufti Sinan Kazancı, the bodies were buried side by side in Acarlar Cemetery.
