The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced a new operation targeting Iran's military capabilities around the Strait of Hormuz, striking dozens of locations. Following the attack, Iran's Revolutionary Guards declared they retaliated against military facilities used by the US and its allies in the region with missiles and drones. As air raid sirens activated in Bahrain, security measures were heightened in the area, and tensions in the Middle East escalated once again.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on July 12 that it conducted a new wave of attacks against Iran. The statement reported that dozens of targets were struck in the operation, aiming to weaken Iran's capability to attack international maritime shipping.

According to CENTCOM, the strikes targeted air defense systems, coastal radars, missile and unmanned aerial vehicle capabilities, as well as small military boats. It was stated that fighter jets, warships, one-way attack drones, and for the first time, one-way maritime drones participated in the operation.

The statement said, "The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade. Iran does not control it."

RETALIATION FROM IRAN

Following the US attacks, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it had conducted a retaliation operation.

In a statement by the IRGC, it was claimed that in response to US attacks on military bases along the Iranian coast, missile and drone strikes targeted missile depots and fuel facilities at Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan.

This air base is known to be used by the US and allied forces for regional operations.

SIRENS SOUNDED IN BAHRAIN

Bahrain's Ministry of Interior announced that air raid sirens were activated in the country after Iranian state-affiliated media reported that missile and drone attacks had been launched against US targets.

The ministry requested citizens to avoid using main roads unless necessary and to follow instructions from security forces. Officials stated that new security directives would be shared.

IRANIAN MEDIA: US BASES AND SHIPS TARGETED

Iran-affiliated Nour News claimed that "large-scale missile and drone attacks" had begun against US military bases and naval assets in the region.

Sabereen News, known for its ties to Iran-backed armed groups, alleged that numerous ballistic missiles were launched from western and central Iran toward US military positions in the region.

However, these claims could not be verified by independent sources, and no official statement has yet been made by the US military on the matter.
