Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Prime Minister Ünal Üstel issued strong messages to the Greek Cypriot Administration reacting to the natural gas agreement signed with Turkey. Stating that the Greek Cypriot side could benefit from the opportunities brought to the island instead of complaining, Üstel said, "We can provide water to you when you are thirsty, and electricity when your power runs out." Üstel also emphasized that natural gas, electricity, and fiber optic infrastructure projects will be realized with Turkey.

Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ünal Üstel responded with a written statement to the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus (GCASC) Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which reacted to the "Memorandum of Understanding on Natural Gas Supply to the TRNC" signed between Turkey and the TRNC.

Stating that the agreement signed with Turkey's discomfort to the Greek Cypriot side was expected, Üstel said, "This was also expected from the mentality that imposed inhumane embargoes and isolations on the Turkish Cypriot people, and even if possible, would make even our breathing a subject of complaint."

"THEY CAN BENEFIT INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING"

Üstel, who stated that the Greek Cypriot leadership could benefit from the opportunities brought to the island instead of complaining about the agreements made by the TRNC, gave remarkable messages.

Pointing out that the Greek Cypriot people face serious problems with water and energy, Üstel said, "We call on Southern Cyprus from here; we can also give you water when you are without water. We can also give you electricity when your electricity runs out."

Üstel, noting that the Greek Cypriot side supplies water via tankers, said, "They will have drunk the pristine Anamur water."

"WE WILL BE THE SHINING STAR OF THE ISLAND"

Emphasizing that the TRNC will become the shining star of the island with its water, electricity, and natural gas investments, Üstel stated, "No denial, no threat, and no smear campaign will change or prevent this reality."

NEW PROJECTS WITH TURKEY WILL CONTINUE

Üstel stated that the Greek Cypriot leadership must accept that the decisions taken and agreements signed by the legitimate representatives of the Turkish Cypriot people are neither illegal nor invalid.

Üstel, expressing that in addition to natural gas, electricity and fiber optic infrastructure projects will also be implemented with Turkey, noted that cooperation between the two countries will continue.
