US Vice President JD Vance wore the costume of Dumbledore, the famous character from the Harry Potter series, on Halloween. Vance, who also dressed his young son Alec as the character Dobby, joined the celebrations with his family. The US Vice President's unusual costume drew attention.
US Vice President JD Vance celebrated Halloween this year by wearing Harry Potter-themed costumes with his family.
Vance, dressed as Albus Dumbledore with long white hair, a gray beard, a pointed hat, and a silver robe, stood before the camera at the Halloween-decorated entrance of his home.
Vance's young son Alec, in his arms, portrayed Dobby the house-elf, one of the beloved characters from the Harry Potter series.
"I AM VICE PRESIDENT DUMBLEDORE"
In footage he released for Halloween, Vance introduced himself as "Vice President Dumbledore."
Referring also to his son in his arms, Vance wished viewers a happy Halloween and told them to have fun, stay safe, and eat plenty of candy.
Vance's wife, Usha Vance, and their other children also joined the family celebration in different costumes inspired by the Harry Potter universe.
HE HAD ANNOUNCED HIS COSTUME IN ADVANCE
On a Fox News program he appeared on October 29, Vance had announced that he would wear a Dumbledore costume for Halloween.
Noting that his children love the Harry Potter series very much, Vance had explained in a humorous way that the character Dumbledore suited him because of his white hair and beard.
LAST YEAR HE ALSO MOCKED HIMSELF
The US vice president, however, had drawn inspiration from a caricature made about him online during the 2025 Halloween celebrations.
Wearing a curly-haired wig, Vance had recreated the image in which he was depicted with exaggerated facial features. This year, however, he made his choice in favor of the famous wizard from the Harry Potter series.
