A father in Brazil fainted while watching his wife give birth and became a topic of social media. The footage, which reached 20 million people, amused users. Comments included both humorous and critical approaches.

At a hospital in Criciúma, Brazil, Maicon Pedroso fainted while watching his wife Marianne Felippe's cesarean birth, and the moment went viral on social media after being shared online.

Images recorded by a birth photographer at the hospital made millions of users laugh. Over 20 million people watched the moments when Pedroso collapsed into a midwife's arms, and many users did not miss the irony of the situation.

One viewer jokingly said, "Women don't realize how hard this can be for fathers. Hang in there, warrior!" while another commented, "The baby's birth, the father's rebirth..." Another user argued that the father was "stealing the show."

Comments didn't end there: "Imagine being cut seven layers deep, and hearing your husband from behind say, 'I had it worse because I fainted.'" A female viewer expressed her reaction, saying, "He faints just watching; imagine the pain we go through."

Some users noted that Pedroso might have been better off not entering the delivery room, with one commenting, "I don't want to sound harsh, but as my grandmother said, the most helpful person is the one who stays out from underfoot." One person even claimed the fainting was actually a reaction to "seeing all the work he would have to help with."

In another sharp comment, it was said, "The body is there, but where the soul is, nobody knows." The video, viewed millions of times, starts with Mr. Pedroso sitting by his wife's bedside holding her hand. At the moment the baby is taken from the operating table and placed on the mother's chest, the father's body suddenly gives way.

A healthcare worker in surgical attire grabs the father under his armpits and gently lowers him to the floor. While one care worker tries to revive the father, another lifts his legs to speed up blood flow. Meanwhile, surgeons are seen smiling and giving a "thumbs up" to the camera.

Maicon Pedroso later told local media, "I don't remember anything after the baby was born." On the morning of April 18, after Marianne's water broke, the couple went to the hospital, and the cesarean operation went quite smoothly except for this small mishap.

Birth photographers Patricia Vogel and Viviane Borges said they were surprised by the father's reaction, stating, "When we arrived at the hospital, they were a bit excited but everything was going well. We've been doing birth photography for 5 years and have witnessed over 1,500 births; this was a scene we'd encountered a few times before."

Fortunately, Maicon quickly recovered and was able to be by his daughter's side. The couple also has another daughter who was born without any issues. It was reported that the health condition of the mother, father, and newborn daughter is currently very good.
