The incident occurred at around 17:30 on the Muratpaşa section of the world-famous Konyaaltı Beach. According to the information obtained, a young man aged 20-25 came to the beach in his clothes, took off his shoes, coat, and socks, and entered the sea wearing only jeans and a vest. Two young people who saw the young man struggling about 10 meters from the shore in a rocky area reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
LIFELESS BODY FOUND
As the young man disappeared into the water, marine police, coast guard, and medical teams were dispatched to the area. Search teams found the young man motionless underwater and brought him ashore. Medical teams determined that the young man had lost his life during their examination.
DIVERS SEARCHED FOR IDENTITY UNDERWATER
Since no identification was found among the young man's belongings on land, marine police divers conducted an underwater search to find his wallet and ID. No trace was found in the search, and the young man's body was taken to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy after the crime scene investigation teams completed their work.
"HE STARTED STRUGGLING AFTER 5 MINUTES"
Muhammet Akyürek, stating that he called the 112 Emergency Call Center after seeing the young man in danger of drowning, said, "He started struggling 5 minutes after entering the water and went under. We tried to warn those around, but no one came, so we called the coast guard."
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
