The bullfighting tournament that had thousands in Spain holding their breath turned into a nightmare within seconds. Facing the bull in the arena, 24-year-old matador Tomás Angulo was flung into the air by horn strikes. As the young matador, said to have suffered a ruptured main artery, collapsed in a pool of blood, spectators filling the stands witnessed moments of horror. Angulo, fighting for his life, remains in serious condition.

Frightening moments were experienced at the Copa Chenel tournament held in Madrid, the capital of Spain. 24-year-old matador Tomás Angulo, who faced a bull in the Moralzarzal arena, came to the brink of death after suffering severe blows.

The young matador, subjected to two horn attacks from the bull, was thrown into the air and dragged for meters. After the incident, health teams entered the arena and provided first aid to Angulo. It was reported that the matador, hospitalized in serious condition, is in critical condition.

TOSSED IN THE AIR

The footage shows the furious bull catching the young fighter with its horns and tossing him meters into the air. After Angulo fell to the ground covered in blood, the enraged animal, unable to slow down, continued dragging and goring the matador on the ground.

Other matadors and officials nearby managed to drive the bull away with difficulty by pulling its tail and distracting it with capes. Angulo, who had also suffered a minor injury at the very beginning of Saturday's competition, collapsed unconscious in the arena after this second and severe attack.

DEEP 25-CENTIMETER WOUND FORMED

According to the doctors' statement, deep wounds caused by the bull's horn were identified on Angulo's left leg, one approximately 20 centimeters and the other 25 centimeters. It was stated that the femoral artery (main artery) was severely damaged in the injuries, and numerous muscle tissues were torn. Additionally, it was reported that trauma occurred in the chest area, and various injuries appeared on his face and scalp.

CONDITION VERY SERIOUS

Hospital sources announced that the young matador was taken into emergency surgery and his life-threatening condition continues. The health report stated that Angulo's condition is assessed as "very serious." The incident has brought discussions about the safety of bullfighting in Spain back to the agenda.
