The shooting national team consisting of Yusuf Dikeç and Şevval İlayda Tarhan won a silver medal in the 10-meter air pistol mixed category at the Olympic Games. With this achievement, the duo brought Turkey its first medal in the shooting discipline.
The national shooting team consisting of Yusuf Dikeç and Şevval İlayda Tarhan made a historic achievement in the mixed 10-meter air pistol category at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The duo of Yusuf Dikeç and Şevval İlayda Tarhan competed against Serbia, represented by Damir Mikec and Zorana Arunovic, in the final of the mixed 10-meter air pistol category held at the Chateauroux Shooting Center. After a competitive and exciting match, Yusuf Dikeç and Şevval İlayda Tarhan lost 16-14 and won the silver medal.
With this success, Yusuf Dikeç and Şevval İlayda Tarhan brought Turkey its first medal in the shooting discipline. The gold medal in this category went to the Serbian couple Damir Mikec and Zorana Arunovic, while the bronze medal was won by the Indian team consisting of Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh. Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak also attended the final matches in the arena.
THE 10TH DISCIPLINE IN WHICH TURKEY WON A MEDAL
Shooting became the 10th discipline in which Turkey won a medal in the history of the Olympic Games. Turkish athletes had previously won medals in wrestling, weightlifting, taekwondo, boxing, karate, athletics, judo, archery, and gymnastics.
