After the end of the Eid al-Adha holiday, the return density continues at the Kemikli Ramps in Karabük. Drivers who postponed their departure by one day due to the density, along with trucks, trailers, and tankers that entered traffic after the heavy-tonnage vehicle ban ended, increased the congestion on the route.

The return journey of citizens who spent the holiday in their hometowns continues on the D-100 highway, which connects Istanbul to the Black Sea and is located on the transit route of 21 provinces, at the Kemikli Ramps area.

KILOMETER-LONG QUEUES FORMED IN TRAFFIC

The density caused by the holiday return increased even further with the addition of drivers who postponed their journeys by a day to avoid traffic congestion. After the traffic restriction on heavy-tonnage vehicles ended, the inclusion of trucks, TIRs, and tankers on the route was among the factors that increased the density.

While traffic moved in a stop-and-go manner at the Kemikli Ramps, minor property damage accidents occasionally occurred, but transportation continued, albeit slowly.

CONGESTION CAPTURED BY DRONE CAMERA

The congestion at the Kemikli Ramps was captured from the air by a drone. While the images showed vehicle queues stretching for kilometers, it was learned that the traffic density was expected to continue until the night hours.

Authorities warned drivers to obey traffic rules, maintain following distance, and adhere to speed limits.
