Greece, which has entered an arms race against Turkey, has effectively been turned into a military base by the United States. The U.S. has established a large military base on the island of Crete and has made new shipments to another military base in Alexandroupoli, near the Turkish border.
After a long hiatus, a US ship loaded with weapons and ammunition has arrived at the port of Dedeağaç. Hundreds of weapons and ammunition were unloaded from the ship. A large amount of military equipment has reached the port of Dedeağaç to be sent to Romania and Bulgaria. One of NATO's largest exercises in 2025 is taking place in Eastern Europe with the participation of Greece, Bulgaria, and Romania.
MAJOR DEPLOYMENT WITHIN THE EXERCISE
Recently, a significant amount of military equipment has arrived at the port of Dedeağaç as part of NATO's "Steadfast Dart 2025" military exercise and is being transported to Romania and Bulgaria via the railway network. According to the news from Birlik Gazetesi; as part of the exercise, Greece is providing host nation support to participating allied forces in Dedeağaç and Thessaloniki. The aim is to ensure that forces can advance smoothly and effectively to the exercise areas in Romania and Bulgaria.
The US continues to effectively use the ports and airports of Volos, Thessaloniki, and Dedeağaç. Recently, at Dedeağaç airport, planes bringing soldiers are either landing or taking off. Similarly, the same activity is observed at Thessaloniki airport.
