After the official graduation ceremony on August 30, five lieutenants who were expelled from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) as part of an investigation initiated for clashing swords and chanting the slogan "We are soldiers of Mustafa Kemal" went to Anıtkabir.
After the official graduation ceremony held on August 30, a disciplinary investigation was initiated regarding the lieutenants who gathered again in the field, clashing swords and chanting the slogan "We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal." Recently, a decision was made in the investigation. It was decided to expel 5 lieutenants and 3 ranking officers from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK).

While the repercussions of the decision continue, the lieutenants made a notable move. 5 lieutenants quietly went to Ankara and paid their respects at Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of Atatürk.
WHAT HAPPENED?
After the official graduation ceremony of the Army War Academy on August 30, 2024, a disciplinary investigation was initiated against the lieutenants for chanting "We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal" while clashing swords. 5 lieutenants were referred to the High Disciplinary Board with a request for "separation from the Turkish Armed Forces." An investigation was also launched against the battalion, company, and platoon commanders during the ceremony.
MSB: NO TOLERANCE WILL BE SHOWN FOR ANY ACTION CONTRARY TO DISCIPLINE IN TSK
Following the expulsion of the lieutenants, the Ministry of National Defense (MSB) made a statement that included the following: "Following the images that emerged in the public after the Army War Academy Flag Transfer and Graduation Ceremony, administrative and disciplinary investigations were initiated; 3 ranking disciplinary officers were sanctioned by the High Disciplinary Board of the Ministry of National Defense, and 5 lieutenants were sanctioned by the Turkish Land Forces High Disciplinary Board in accordance with the provisions of the Turkish Armed Forces Disciplinary Law and the Regulations of the Turkish Armed Forces High Disciplinary Boards."
