The statement of 27-year-old Talha Torbalı, who surrendered to police in Konya after confessing to killing 49-year-old Canan Yıldırım, with whom he lived together in Antalya, has emerged. It was learned that the suspect, who said he poured boiling water on the woman he had argued with out of jealousy and then strangled her, transferred 17,000 liras from Yıldırım's bank account to his own account after the murder. Torbalı was referred to the courthouse.
Talha Torbalı (27), who fled to Konya after strangling Canan Yıldırım (49), with whom he lived in Kepez, and surrendered to police there, was brought to Antalya. In his statement, Torbalı, who said that after pouring boiling water on the woman with whom he had argued due to jealousy he strangled her, confessed that he transferred 17,000 TL in Canan Yıldırım's bank account to his own account.
SURRENDERED IN KONYA
The incident occurred yesterday morning in a detached house at 6221 Sokak, Fevzi Çakmak Neighborhood, Kepez district. An argument broke out between Canan Yıldırım and Talha Torbalı, who lived together, due to 'jealousy'. Talha Torbalı strangled Canan Yıldırım in bed on the grounds that she had cheated on him. After the murder, Talha Torbalı went to Konya by bus and surrendered to security forces there. It was reported that Talha Torbalı, who was taken into custody, confessed to beating and killing Canan Yıldırım.
POLICE FOUND HER DEAD
After the situation was reported to the Antalya Police Department, teams from the Homicide Bureau Branch of the Public Order Branch Directorate went to the house at 6221 Sokak, Fevzi Çakmak Neighborhood. The teams found Canan Yıldırım dead. Following the work of the crime scene investigation teams and the prosecutor, Canan Yıldırım's body was taken to the morgue of the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy. Yıldırım's body was received from the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue today by her older brother. While the young woman's older brother appeared to be very sad, Yıldırım's body was taken to Karaöz Neighborhood of Aksu to be buried.
BROUGHT TO ANTALYA
After procedures at the Konya Police Department, the suspect, who was brought to Antalya by teams from the Homicide Bureau Branch of the Public Order Branch Directorate, stated in his statement at the police station that an argument had occurred between him and Canan Yıldırım, and that after the argument he poured boiling water on the woman and strangled her. It was learned that Talha Torbalı also stated in his statement that after the murder he transferred 17,000 TL in Canan Yıldırım's bank account to his own account and left the house and went to Konya.
After his procedures, Talha Torbalı, who underwent a health check at Uncalı District Polyclinic, was then referred to the courthouse.
