In the statement made by Kastamonuspor's Board of Directors, it was announced that Club President Cevat Şenkardeşler, who invited three board members to resign, was removed from duty by the board's decision.
Cevat Şenkardeşler, the club president of Kastamonuspor, one of the teams in the TFF 2nd League, announced that the duty of Sporting Director Şakir Akın was unilaterally terminated due to developments at the club, and stated that he requested the resignations of Vice President Mert Paflak and board members Sanıl Ahu Bahar and Cengiz Özyurt.
PRESIDENT ŞENKARDEŞLER REMOVED FROM OFFICE
Following the statement, a written statement was also made by the Kastamonuspor board of directors. In the statement, it was announced that Cevat Şenkardeşler was removed from his position as club president by the decision of the board of directors.
In the statement, where it was noted that Board Member Mert Paflak was appointed to the position of Kastamonuspor Club President, the following expressions were included:
"Due to the statements and notifications made by Mr. Cevat Şenkardeşler to the public today, it has become necessary for us, the GMG Kastamonuspor Board of Directors, to make the following statement. We had started our duty on the GMG Kastamonuspor Club Board of Directors, which we took over on July 22, 2026, together with Mr. Cevat Şenkardeşler. In the period from the date we started our duty until today, it has been observed that Mr. Cevat Şenkardeşler could not fulfill the promises and commitments he made to our Board of Directors, the public of Kastamonu, and the GMG Kastamonuspor community. Furthermore, a common opinion has emerged in our Board that he could not manage our club with the responsibility and representation understanding required by the presidency, and that he would not be able to provide the necessary contribution to the interests of our community in the future process either. Following these developments, the issue was evaluated by our Board of Directors, and as a result of the vote, it was decided by our Board with a majority of votes to terminate Mr. Cevat Şenkardeşler's duty as club president. All decisions taken and actions carried out in this process have been made in accordance with the relevant provisions of our club's bylaws and within the framework of the powers of our Board of Directors. In line with our club's bylaws and our Board's decision, our Board Member, Mr. Mert Paflak, has been appointed to the position of GMG Kastamonuspor Club President. Therefore, we especially present to the public that the statements made by Mr. Cevat Şenkardeşler today, which are in the nature of dismissing from duty, requesting resignation, or using representation or management authority on behalf of our club, do not reflect any decision taken on behalf of the GMG Kastamonuspor Board of Directors. As the GMG Kastamonuspor Board of Directors, our only priority in the upcoming process is to represent our club as it deserves, to promptly resolve existing financial and administrative problems, and to establish a strong and sustainable structure that will carry Kastamonuspor back to sporting success. In this context, important and positive steps have been taken regarding the opening of the transfer ban, which our public closely follows, and the reduction of our club's current debt burden, and our work continues intensively. We respectfully inform the public that we will not allow any personal disputes, polemics, or individual accounts to take precedence over the interests of GMG Kastamonuspor, and that our Board of Directors continues its duty in unity and solidarity."
