The difficulties citizens face when withdrawing money from ATMs are increasing every day. The unavailability of 5, 10, 20, and 50 TL banknotes, the rising daily withdrawal limits, and the rapid depletion of cash in ATMs are exacerbating this issue. DAILY WITHDRAWAL LIMITS AT ATMs HAVE INCREASED, BUT PROBLEMS PERSISTWith the new year, the daily cash withdrawal limits at ATMs have been raised from the range of 5,000 to 10,000 TL to 15,000 to 20,000 TL. However, this increase has led to faster depletion of cash in ATMs and caused citizens to search for other ATMs. ATM CAPACITY IS INSUFFICIENT: SMALL BANKNOTES TAKE UP SPACEAn ATM can hold between approximately 800,000 and 1,000,000 TL. However, banks typically only fill 500,000 to 700,000 TL of this capacity. Additionally, since lower denomination banknotes take up more space in ATMs, these banknotes are often unavailable. WITHDRAWING SMALL AMOUNTS FROM ATMs IS NOW IMPOSSIBLEThe issues ATMs face in dispensing change have led to complaints among citizens. Users in need of small change cannot withdraw 5, 10, or 20 TL banknotes from ATMs, creating difficulties in daily life. A citizen tried to withdraw 20 TL from an ATM, but the machine could not dispense that amount. A citizen who attempted to withdraw 50 TL received the same result. When trying to withdraw 180 TL with a fractional payment request, it was stated that only 100 TL could be dispensed. This test became a concrete example of the inadequacy experienced at ATMs.
