On the highway between Yeşilyurt and Sulusaray districts in Tokat, thousands of frogs attempted to cross the road simultaneously. Due to this unusual natural event, many frogs were crushed under vehicles and died. Local residents stated that this situation may have been caused by young frogs, which hatched from eggs in puddles after heavy rains, reaching the road in large numbers.

An extraordinary natural event occurred on the approximately 3-kilometer road between the Yeşilyurt district and the Sulusaray district of Tokat.

Thousands of frogs simultaneously attempted to cross the road at the Kantar location on the border between the Çırdak neighborhood of Yeşilyurt district and the Sulusaray district.

DRIVERS COULDN'T BELIEVE THEIR EYES

Drivers passing through the area were astonished to see thousands of frogs covering the asphalt. A significant portion of the frogs trying to cross were crushed under moving vehicles and died.

"I ENCOUNTERED SUCH A SCENE FOR THE FIRST TIME"

Isa Sarı, a local resident, stated that he had never seen such an event before, saying, "While going to the Kantar location of Sulusaray district, I came across frogs crossing in small groups. I couldn't figure out why. As vehicles passed, many of the animals were crushed."

HEAVY RAINS MAY HAVE BEEN A FACTOR

Sarı noted that after the heavy rains this year, frogs may have laid eggs in flooded streams and puddles, adding, "The baby frogs that hatched reached the road in large groups. Thousands of baby frogs and adults were trying to cross together."
