CHP MYK has referred the former mayor and two deputy mayors responsible for issuing permits contrary to zoning regulations for the hotel project under construction in Marmaris, Muğla, to the High Disciplinary Board (YDK) with a request for their expulsion. CHP MYK convened yesterday at the party headquarters under the chairmanship of the party leader Özgür Özel. According to the information obtained, discussions regarding the hotel construction owned by SİNPAŞ GYO in Kızılbük Bay, Marmaris, were addressed during the meeting. The preliminary report of the four-member investigation committee formed upon the instruction of Chairman Özel was also evaluated at the meeting. THREE NAMES REFERRED TO DISCIPLINEIn this context, the former Marmaris Mayor Mehmet Oktay, along with Deputy Mayors Burak Demirtaş and İhsan Öztürk, who were responsible for the permit processes contrary to zoning regulations and rules related to the construction, were referred to the YDK with a request for their expulsion. 33 NEW PERMITS TWO DAYS BEFORE THE ELECTIONSIt has also been learned that Oktay, who was not nominated as a candidate for mayor in the local elections, issued 33 new permits contrary to zoning regulations that opened the way for the expansion of the project just two days before the local elections. INVESTIGATIONS WILL CONTINUEParty sources reported that detailed investigations regarding the matter will continue and that necessary steps will be taken decisively based on the information that emerges. The Marmaris Municipality recently canceled the construction permits for the hotel project and sealed the construction site based on court decisions.
