As a result of a collision between two trucks in the Tarsus district of Mersin, 2 people, including a child, lost their lives, and 1 person was injured.
HEAD-ON COLLISION
The accident occurred on the Mersin-Adana D-400 highway, near the Huzurkent neighborhood. According to the information obtained, the truck driven by Yahya Ç. and the truck driven by Baki T. collided head-on for an undetermined reason.
16-YEAR-OLD ŞEHMUS DIED AT THE SCENE
As a result of the impact, the vehicles suffered significant damage. Upon notification, police, health, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene. In the accident, 16-year-old Şehmus Y., who was a passenger in one of the trucks, died at the scene.
COULD NOT BE SAVED EVEN AFTER BEING EXTRACTED FROM THE VEHICLE
One of the injured drivers, Baki T., was taken to the hospital by ambulance after initial medical intervention. The other truck driver, Yahya Çay, was trapped in the vehicle. After a prolonged effort by fire brigade teams, the injured driver was removed from the vehicle but could not be saved at the hospital where he was taken by health teams. It was reported that the treatment of the other truck driver, Baki T., continues.
