In the horrific head-on collision of two cars in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, 22-year-old senior university student Betül Koruğ lost her life. In the accident that injured a total of 9 people, it was learned that 4 of the injured under treatment in the hospital remain in critical condition, while security camera footage of the terrifying moments has emerged.
In a head-on collision between two cars in Beşiktaş, where 9 people were injured, university student Betül Koruğ (22) lost her life. It was learned that Arif Kıvanç G., Mert D., Tuğba Ö., and Türkalp E., who were seriously injured in the accident, are in life-threatening condition. Koruğ was a senior psychology student at a private university in Beyoğlu.
TWO CARS COLLIDED HEAD-ON
The accident occurred around 04:30 on Çırağan Street in Beşiktaş Yıldız Neighborhood. According to information obtained, cars with plates 34 GPP 245 and 34 CAH 206, coming from opposite lanes, collided head-on. Upon notification, police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Due to the impact, 9 people in both vehicles were injured. Fire and medical teams at the scene provided first aid to the injured, and it was learned that 4 of the injured were in critical condition.
UNIVERSITY STUDENT DIES IN ACCIDENT
Among the injured, Muhammed Ö. and Nilsu P. were taken to Seyrantepe Hamidiye Training and Research Hospital, Ferhat B. and Betül Koruğ to Taksim Training and Research Hospital, and Yiğit D. to Samatya State Hospital. Arif Kıvanç G., Mert D., Tuğba Ö., and Türkalp E. were admitted to Okmeydanı State Hospital for treatment. Despite all medical interventions at the hospital, Betül Koruğ could not be saved. An investigation has been launched into the accident.

Meanwhile, security camera footage of the accident moment emerged. The footage shows the car with plate 34 GPP 245 speeding down the street and attempting to overtake, when it collides head-on with the car coming from the opposite direction with plate 34 CAH 206.
