A new price increase expectation has emerged in fuel prices, which closely concerns millions of vehicle owners. With the SCT increase expected to take effect at the beginning of November, an increase of 4 lira 15 kuruş per liter for gasoline and 3 lira 60 kuruş for diesel is envisaged. For LPG autogas, an increase of 9 lira is expected as of November 3. If the increases materialize, diesel may exceed 100 lira and autogas may exceed 50 lira.
A new wave of increases in fuel prices will be experienced with November. Oil prices, exchange rate volatility, and expected regulations in Special Consumption Tax (SCT) may push pump prices up again.
According to information relayed from sector sources, while tax-related price increases are expected for gasoline and diesel in the first days of November, a high amount increase is also on the agenda for LPG autogas.
4.15 TL INCREASE EXPECTED FOR GASOLINE, 3.60 TL FOR DIESEL
The next stage of the gradual SCT increase, previously reported to have been set by presidential decree, is expected to take effect on Sunday, November 1.
Within this scope, an increase of approximately 4 lira 15 kuruş including VAT is projected to be reflected in the per-liter price of gasoline, and 3 lira 60 kuruş in the per-liter price of diesel.
It is also being discussed in the sector that the increases may be reflected at the pump as of 00:01 on Saturday, October 31. However, in the stated SCT calendar, the effective date is listed as November 1.
The exact date and time when the price changes become final will become clear with updates by distribution companies.
ALSO A 9-LIRA INCREASE FOR AUTOGAS
The most striking increase expectation emerged for LPG autogas. According to information based on sector sources, it is stated that a 9-lira increase may be made to the per-liter price of autogas, effective from 00:01 on Tuesday, November 3. If this increase occurs, it is stated that LPG prices may exceed the 50-lira level in many cities. However, there is not yet an official price announcement regarding the 9-lira increase for autogas.
THE 100-LIRA THRESHOLD MAY BE EXCEEDED FOR DIESEL
If the expected increases occur, new thresholds may be seen in fuel prices.
As of October 30, the per-liter price of diesel, stated to be sold at approximately 96.60 lira in Istanbul, may reach 100.20 lira with a 3.60-lira increase.
The per-liter price of gasoline, at approximately 76.20 lira, may rise to 80.35 lira with a 4.15-lira increase.
If the expectation of a 9-lira increase for LPG autogas materializes, the per-liter price in Istanbul is projected to reach approximately 50 lira.
Official tax regulations and price announcements by distribution companies are awaited for the expected changes in fuel prices to become final.
