US President Donald Trump made a very harsh statement towards Oman while tensions in the Strait of Hormuz continue. When asked how they would respond if Oman intervened in US activities in the region, Trump said, "If Oman gets in our way, we will bomb them badly."

US President Donald Trump made striking statements regarding developments in the Strait of Hormuz and regional policies in an interview with Fox News reporter Trey Yingst.

When asked what steps would be taken if Oman intervened in US activities in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump responded, "If Oman gets in our way, we will bomb them like crazy."

"WE HAVE SECRET COMMUNICATION CHANNELS WITH THE REVOLUTIONARY GUARDS CORPS"

Evaluating the ongoing tension with Iran, Trump stated that they have secret communication channels with officials of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Emphasizing that the Tehran administration "must surrender," Trump said, "I am in no hurry." Trump argued that the US naval blockade on Iran has created serious "economic pressure," and claimed that Iran is "bluffing" during this process.

Also making assessments regarding ammunition stockpiles, Trump stated that only a "small portion" of US ammunition in Iran had been used and that they still have a large amount of medium-level weapons on hand. Trump also criticized former US President Joe Biden, saying that advanced systems had been given to Ukraine.

ISRAEL ELECTIONS AND HAMAS STATEMENT

Speaking about the elections to be held in Israel in October, Trump said, "It would be best for me to stay out of the Israeli elections, but I could support someone." Stating that they communicate with Hamas through different channels, Trump claimed that Hamas would "lay down its arms" and said that Israel "should not launch an attack on Gaza."

WHY DID NEGOTIATIONS OVER THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ STALL?

Under the agreement reached between Iran and the US on June 14 with Pakistan's mediation, it was decided that the US would release Iran's frozen assets, and in return, Iran would open the Strait of Hormuz and not charge fees for passages for 60 days.

However, after the agreement, tensions escalated when the US, instead of releasing the frozen assets, designated an alternative route passing through Omani territorial waters. Iran, deeming this step a violation of the agreement, restricted passages through the strait and struck some ships attempting to cross without permission. Following severe clashes that began around the Strait of Hormuz on July 8 and lasted for two weeks, Iran resumed negotiations with Oman to establish safe passage corridors.
