US President Trump told a journalist who asked whether voters were complaining about fuel prices ahead of the midterm elections, "I had no other choice. As soon as the war with Iran ends—and it will end very soon—oil prices will plummet to rock bottom."
US President Trump made assessments on the Iran agenda after holding a press conference in the Oval Office.
"OIL PRICES WILL CRASH TO ROCK BOTTOM"
Responding to a reporter who asked that voters were complaining about high fuel prices ahead of the US congressional midterm elections to be held on November 3, Trump said, "I had no choice. As soon as the war with Iran ends, which will end very soon, oil prices will crash to rock bottom."
SMALL PRICE ANALOGY FOR PRICES
Arguing that high oil prices are in fact "a small price to pay" to ensure that Iran does not have nuclear weapons, the US President stated that prices would fall soon and everyone would be pleased.
Explaining that Iran still has some things it needs to do and that the war has therefore not completely ended, Trump made the assessment, "We could withdraw from there right now if we wanted to and we would have done a great job, but that is not enough for me. We must be sure that this (nuclear weapon) will not happen five years, six years, or ten years from now, and it will not."
