While US President Donald Trump was being welcomed with an official ceremony by President Erdoğan, interesting moments occurred at Beştepe. During the welcoming ceremony, the music from the TV series Diriliş Ertuğrul was heard playing.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed US President Donald Trump, who is on an official visit to Turkey, with a ceremony.
Cavalrymen greeted Trump's official vehicle on the road in front of the Presidential Complex and escorted the vehicle to the protocol gate.
DIRILIS ERTUGRUL MUSIC PLAYED
President Erdogan welcomed Trump at the main entrance gate of the Complex. After Erdogan and Trump took their places in the ceremony area, the band played the national anthems of both countries. Following the US National Anthem and the Turkish National Anthem, the Presidential Guard Band performed the Dirilis Ertugrul music.
In the ceremony, flags and soldiers representing 16 historical Turkish states, the mehteran band, and soldiers in janissary attire were featured, and a 21-gun salute was performed.
Trump greeted the Guard Regiment Ceremony Unit by saying "Hello soldiers." President Erdogan and Trump posed for the press by shaking hands in front of Turkish and US flags on the stairs.
TURKISH STARS PERFORMED GREETING FLIGHT
As Trump arrived at the Presidential Complex, the Turkish Air Forces' aerobatics team, the Turkish Stars, performed a greeting flight. Erdogan and Trump, who moved on to a joint press conference before their bilateral meeting, will later chair the inter-delegation meeting.
At the ceremony, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek, National Defense Minister Yasar Guler, MIT Chief Ibrahim Kalin, Presidency Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, Presidency Private Secretary Hasan Dogan, Presidency Secretary General Hakki Susmaz, President's Chief Foreign Policy and Security Advisor Akif Cagatay Kilic, Turkey's Ambassador to Washington Sedat Onal, and Ankara Governor Yakup Canbolat were present.
