US President Donald Trump, in a statement regarding the nuclear and regional negotiations with Iran, drew a red line, saying, 'I will only sign a deal where we get everything we want.' Assessing the likelihood of a deal at 50-50, Trump threatened to bomb Iran and completely eliminate it if otherwise. Additionally, the US press suggested that Trump will also discuss the Iran issue with the leaders of Gulf countries, and that Turkey may also participate in the talks.
US President Donald Trump made striking statements regarding the negotiations between the US and Iran.
"I WILL ONLY SIGN AN AGREEMENT WHERE WE GET EVERYTHING WE WANT"
In a special interview with the US press, Trump stated that the parties have made significant progress in the negotiation process to end the war. Speaking to US-based CBS News, Trump noted that under the final agreement, Iran's access to any nuclear weapons would be prevented, and that the Tehran administration's enriched uranium resources would be "satisfactorily controlled." Trump said, "I will only sign an agreement where we get everything we want."
"I WILL BOMB THEM INTO A THOUSAND PIECES"
The US President stated that he would evaluate the latest draft agreement presented by Iran with his advisors today and could make a decision on whether to restart the war by tomorrow. Trump said, "Either we reach a good agreement, or I will bomb them into a thousand pieces."
"CHANCE OF A GOOD AGREEMENT IS 50-50"
In his assessment of a potential agreement, Trump said, "The chance of a good agreement is 50-50. Otherwise, we will completely eliminate them." Accordingly, Trump is expected to hold a meeting later today with Middle East Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, his son-in-law and former senior advisor Jared Kushner, and US Vice President James David Vance.
"TRUMP WILL MEET WITH GULF LEADERS, TURKEY MAY ALSO JOIN"
US-based news site Axios reported that Trump is expected to hold a meeting with leaders of Gulf countries today to discuss the Iran issue. Sources indicated that Egypt, Pakistan, and Turkey may also join the meeting.
US AND IRAN ANNOUNCE "PROGRESS"
This development comes at a time when officials from Pakistan, Iran, and the US have made statements regarding progress in the negotiation process. Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Baghai said that an agreement between the parties is "both very far and very close" and reported that they are at the final stage of preparing a 14-point memorandum of understanding.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also stated that progress has been made in the process and said, "new news about the war could come today, tomorrow, or within a few days." Pakistan Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir held meetings today with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf as part of his contacts in the Iranian capital Tehran.
