The process that started with the call of MHP General Chairman Devlet Bahçeli continued with the DEM Party delegation's two visits to İmralı after a 4.5-year hiatus.

Hatimoğulları expressed that Öcalan stated during the second meeting that he continued his work and that a historical period was being passed through. "Öcalan mentioned in the last meeting that Bahçeli's approach would lead to a 'historical breakthrough that would serve peace if it meets with state wisdom,'" she said.
