Türk-İş will announce its minimum wage proposal.

The Minimum Wage Determination Commission, consisting of representatives from workers, employers, and the government, held its third meeting regarding the determination of the minimum wage that will be valid in 2025. No figures were discussed at the meeting.

It was learned that TÜRK-İŞ, representing the worker delegation in the commission, will announce its proposal for the minimum wage at 4:00 PM. The employer side was represented by the Turkish Employers' Associations Confederation (TİSK), while the worker side was represented by TÜRK-İŞ due to being the confederation with the most members.

NO FIGURES WERE DISCUSSED

It was expected that both the worker and employer sides would present their proposals for the minimum wage during the discussions. After the meeting held at the ministry, TÜRK-İŞ Vice President Ramazan Ağar stated that no figures were discussed.

Ağar said, "Today, our Minister of Labor also chaired the commission. We presented our demands. If the minimum wage is low, we can work for a year but cannot make ends meet. Due to the purchasing power over the past year, 11 thousand out of 17 thousand liras has been lost. We need to make people smile. Therefore, if there is a reasonable wage that we can accept, we will agree. Again, no figures were brought up in the commission. We are the side requesting money. The political authority should state a figure so that we can adjust our stance accordingly. We said that the actual inflation would not yield any results," he said.
