As of January 1st, a new rule is being introduced for public transportation in 18 provinces. The Turkey Card, launched with the aim of making public transportation more efficient and organized, will be available in 18 more provinces. Later, transportation across Turkey will be provided with this card. New statements about the Turkey Card application came from the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu. Uraloğlu stated, "We will launch the Turkey Card in 18 provinces in 2025." HOW WILL THE TURKEY CARD WORK?The Turkey Card offers a system where users can easily meet their payment needs in daily life, such as money transfers, shopping, and transportation. In this context, a single card has been created to perform all kinds of financial transactions and to establish a single payment system that can be used on all public transportation vehicles in the cities. WHERE TO GET THE TURKEY CARD?Applications can be made through all PTT branches across Turkey, the Turkey Card Mobile Application, or the Turkey Card Website. THE TURKEY CARD IS USED IN PILOT PROVINCESRecalling that the Turkey Card, which will consolidate public transportation cards in 81 provinces into a single card, has been launched in pilot provinces such as Konya, Kayseri, Gümüşhane, Yozgat, and Istanbul on the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport Metro Line, Uraloğlu stated, "By the end of 2024, we will increase the number of provinces included in the system to 18. We are continuing our efforts in Ankara with Başkentray, in Izmir with İZBAN, as well as in Rize, Kocaeli, Aksaray, Tokat, Karabük, Uşak, Kahramanmaraş, Nevşehir, Kilis, Çorum, and Gaziantep. Citizens who want to obtain a Turkey Card can apply at PTT offices. We are offering this project, which will provide convenience in transportation for our citizens, at a nominal fee. Citizens who wish to obtain the Turkey Card from PTT offices will pay a symbolic amount of 40 lira for the Uncarded Turkey Card, and 60 lira for Debit and Prepaid cards," he stated.
