Turkey's Borsa Istanbul Down At Thursday Open

Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,527.07 points on Thursday, down 0.26% or 3.98 points from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.15% to end Wednesday at 1,531.05 points, with a daily trading volume of 31.23 billion Turkish liras ($4.25 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 7.4200 as of 9: 30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), from 7.4340 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 8.9500, slightly down from 8.9530, while one British pound traded for 10.3500 Turkish liras, down from 10.4030.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $64.47 as of 10 a.m. local time . -
