Turkey's Borsa Istanbul Rises 0.23 Pct At Close

Turkey's BIST 100 went up 0.23 percent to close Wednesday at 101,971.29 points.



Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 101,990.37 points and gained 229.15 points from Tuesday's close of 101,742.14 points.



The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 5.3060 at close, slightly up from 5.3030 at Tuesday's close.



The euro/lira rate rose to 6.0210 at Wednesday's close, versus 5.9960 at the previous close.



One British pound traded for 6.9340 Turkish liras, while the GBP/TRY rate was 6.8870 at close on Tuesday.



In Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, the price of one ounce of gold stood at $1,342.00 by market close, up from $1,329.50 the previous day.



The price of Brent crude oil traded at $66.30 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) Wednesday, with a day range of $65.64 to $66.66. -
