Turkish Stocks Flat At Midweek Open

Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,510.18 points on Wednesday, up 0.98 points or 0.06% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 1.09% to 1,509.20 points at Tuesday's close, with a daily trading volume of 21 billion Turkish liras ($2.22 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate climbed to 9.5240 as of 9: 30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday, from 9.5130 at Tuesday's close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 11.0720 versus 11.0380, and one British pound traded for 13.1110 Turkish liras, compared to 13.1650 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for $84.72 as of 10 a.m. local time on Wednesday. -
