The Turkish Air Force participated in the NATO Integrated Air and Missile Defense activity held in Romanian airspace with F-16, E-7T, and KC-135R aircraft. Within the scope of the training, low-speed interception training was successfully conducted for the first time in NATO activities.
In a post shared on the social media account of the Ministry of National Defense, it was stated that the Air Force Command continues to contribute to NATO's integrated air and missile defense.
A FIRST IN NATO'S SKIES
The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) announced that participation in the NATO Integrated Air and Missile Defense activity conducted in Romanian airspace was provided with aircraft belonging to the Air Force Command, and that within the scope of the training, low-speed interception training was successfully completed for the first time.
"ALWAYS READY IN THE SKY, ALWAYS ON DUTY FOR PEACE AND SECURITY"
In the post made by the MSB, the following was noted: "On August 13, 2026, 2 F-16 aircraft from our 6th Main Jet Base Command (Bandirma), 1 E-7T aircraft from our 3rd Main Jet Base Command (Konya), and 1 KC-135R aircraft from our 10th Main Jet Base Command (Adana) participated in the NATO Integrated Air and Missile Defence (IAMD) activity conducted in Romanian airspace."
Within the scope of the activity carried out jointly with NATO elements, low-speed interception training was successfully conducted for the first time. With our powerful air force, we are always ready in the sky and always on duty for peace and security."
