A dessert shop in Adana, which was attacked twice with firearms last year, was attacked again with firearms recently. It was determined that the latest attack was carried out by two children aged 15 and 16. While it was established that the incident stemmed from a credit-debt issue, both children were arrested.
The perpetrators of the attack targeting a workplace in Adana, which was subjected to armed assaults twice last year and again the other day, were caught after police examined approximately 300 hours of footage obtained from 400 security cameras. The 16-year-old boy who opened fire on the workplace and the 15-year-old boy who recorded the attack with his mobile phone were arrested by the court they were taken to.
FIRED SUCCESSIVE SHOTS AND FLED
The incident occurred on the night of July 4 at a dessert shop located on Tellidere Street in the central Seyhan district. An unidentified suspect came in front of the workplace, fired successive shots with a pistol, and fled. While no one was injured in the attack, material damage occurred at the workplace. The moments were recorded second by second by the workplace's security cameras.
300 HOURS OF FOOTAGE FROM 400 SECURITY CAMERAS EXAMINED
Teams from the Adana Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch Robbery Bureau, who launched an investigation based on the images, meticulously examined 300 hours of footage obtained from approximately 400 security cameras in the vicinity. As a result of the work, it was determined that the person who opened fire on the workplace was B.A. (16), and the person who recorded the attack with a mobile phone was M.U.O. (15).
BOTH CHILDREN WERE ARRESTED
The two juveniles dragged into crime, caught in a police operation, were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station. B.A. and M.U.O. were arrested by the court they were taken to.
THE REASON FOR THE ATTACK REVEALED
Teams deepening the investigation determined that Y.C.G., the cousin of workplace owner Serdar Kılınç, harbored a grudge against Kılınç due to a debt-receivable issue. While efforts continue to capture Y.C.G., who is considered to have connections to the armed attack, it was learned that the investigation found no link between the incident and any organized crime group.
TARGETED BY BULLETS TWICE LAST YEAR
It was stated that two separate armed attacks on the workplace on July 20 and October 5 last year were also solved through the efforts of the Adana Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch, and the suspects in that context were handed over to judicial authorities.
Additionally, it was learned that Kılınç had previously received threatening messages via WhatsApp from foreign numbers saying, "The next bullets will hit one of you directly," "I will have a hand grenade thrown into your shop," and "Either you will pay the money, or after this point, there will be no such thing as your dessert shop," and it is claimed in the investigation that these messages were also sent by Y.C.G.
