Two individuals who harassed a young girl in Beyoğlu have been arrested.

Two individuals who attempted to rape a young girl in the middle of the street in Beyoğlu, Istanbul, have been arrested.

THEY TRIED TO RAPE THE YOUNG GIRL

The incident occurred on September 24 in Balo Street, Şehit Muhtar Neighborhood, Beyoğlu district. Semir T. and Ömer K., who followed 25-year-old İrem A. on her way home, attempted to rape the young girl after blocking her path. Citizens who heard the young girl's screams intervened in the incident. As a result of the efforts of the Beyoğlu Security Team police officers who arrived at the scene, the suspects Semir T. and Ömer K. were captured and taken into custody. The suspects were released by the prosecutor's office after their procedures at the police station.

After the prosecutor's decision for re-arrest, suspect Semir T. was captured in Tarsus, Mersin, while Ömer K. was caught in Kadıköy, Istanbul, and taken into custody. After their statements were completed at the police station, the suspects were referred to the on-duty court by the Istanbul Duty Republic Prosecutor's Office.

BOTH SUSPECTS WERE ARRESTED

Both suspects were arrested by the Istanbul Duty Magistrate Court on the request for their arrest for the crimes of "sexual assault and deprivation of liberty."
