In the Narathiwat province in southern Thailand, 17 people, including women and children, were injured in two separate bomb attacks. The first attack targeted police barracks, while the second attack targeted Buddhist civilians during dinner.
A bomb attack panic occurred in southern Thailand. In the Narathiwat province, at 18:45 local time yesterday, the first attack targeted police barracks, resulting in the explosion of a vehicle loaded with explosives, injuring 8 police officers and 2 students from a school bus passing by at the time. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals by health teams that arrived at the scene. Initial investigations by police teams revealed that the attack was carried out with a bomb-laden vehicle left in front of the barracks.
A DINNER ORGANIZED BY BUDDHIST CIVILIANS WAS TARGETED
Hours after the explosion, another attack in the same province targeted a dinner organized by Buddhist civilians. According to eyewitness accounts, masked attackers arrived at the scene in an open truck and launched a grenade and armed attack on the civilians dining. In the incident, 7 people, including women, were injured, and the injured were transported to nearby hospitals by health teams. Security forces launched a large-scale operation in the area following the attacks.
SECURITY MEASURES HAVE BEEN INCREASED
Thai Navy Major General Paisal Noosang stated that investigations regarding the attacks are ongoing and issued an order to increase security measures in risky areas.
