An investigation has been launched in Istanbul's Bakırköy district over allegations that secretly recorded footage of customers at a beauty center was made available for a fee on social media platforms. In the operation, 7 devices containing hidden camera setups were seized, and it was determined that 14 thousand videos were published through a platform. Two suspects taken into custody were arrested and sent to prison.

Two suspects were arrested regarding the allegation that images of customers at a beauty center in Bakirkoy were secretly recorded and shown for a fee on social media platforms.

HIDDEN CAMERA SETUP SEIZED: THEY SOLD 14 THOUSAND VIDEOS

Teams from the Bakirkoy District Police Department conducted an operation following a tip that customers' images were being secretly recorded at a beauty and epilation center operating in the district, and that these recordings were being shown for a fee on social media platforms.

During a search of the workplace, 7 devices—1 active and 6 dismantled—containing hidden camera setups, along with various digital materials, were seized. It was determined that 14 thousand videos had been published on a platform.

2 SUSPECTS ARRESTED

The business owner and the 2 suspects who installed the camera system were taken into custody on charges of 'violation of privacy', 'unlawful acquisition of personal data', and 'obscenity'.

After their procedures at the police station were completed, the suspects were referred to the courthouse and subsequently arrested and sent to prison.
