77-year-old Hedla Çin lost her life after being shot on her house balcony by gunfire from a pistol at a wedding in Kızıltepe district of Mardin. Two of the three suspects related to the incident were arrested.
Hedla Çin (77), who lost her life when a bullet fired from a pistol at a wedding struck her chest while she was on the balcony of her home in Kızıltepe district of Mardin, has been laid to rest. Two of the three suspects detained in connection with the incident have been arrested.
SHE WAS SITTING ON HER BALCONY
The incident occurred on June 15 in the Mezopotamya neighborhood of Kızıltepe district. Gunfire was opened with a pistol by an unidentified person or persons at a wedding. One of the bullets struck Hedla Çin, who was on the balcony of her home. Çin, wounded in the chest, was taken to Kızıltepe State Hospital after initial intervention by health teams dispatched to the address upon her relatives' report. Despite all efforts by doctors, Çin could not be saved. Çin's body was sent to the Diyarbakır Forensic Medicine Institute. After autopsy procedures, Çin was handed over to her relatives and bid farewell on her final journey in Kızıltepe with tears.

Within the scope of the investigation coordinated by the Kızıltepe Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, police teams detained 3 suspects. During searches at the suspects' homes, the pistol used in the incident was also seized. After their processing at the police station, the suspects were referred to the Kızıltepe Courthouse. One of the suspects was released following the prosecutor's interrogation, while 2 were referred to court. The suspects were arrested on charges of 'Causing the death of a person with possible intent' and 'Using a weapon of a serious nature.'
