Mahmut Arıkan, the General Chairman of the Felicity Party, which was part of the opposition bloc in the last elections, announced that he supports the government's digital platform regulation for children. In his speech in İzmir, Arıkan thanked the government and emphasized that the age restriction alone was not sufficient.
OPENLY THANKED THE GOVERNMENT
Mahmut Arıkan, the General Chairman of the Felicity Party, attended the Traditional İzmir Brotherhood Meeting organized by his party's İzmir Provincial Directorate at Kültürpark. Addressing party members here, Felicity Party General Chairman Arıkan touched on the regulation published in the Official Gazette that includes an age restriction on digital platforms. Stating that he found the step taken by the government positive, Felicity Party General Chairman Arıkan said that he thanked the government for the regulation.
Felicity Party General Chairman Arıkan used the following statements in his speech: "In recent days they introduced a new regulation. They introduced an age restriction on social media use. For this reason, I go out on every platform and thank the government. I wish you had done this earlier. The age restriction you introduced on social media is not a sufficient restriction. There is more to it. We see the real great harm in morning broadcasts. We see it in absurd TV series scripts."
"EVERYONE SAYS THIS"
In his speech, Arıkan, who also touched on the problems Turkey is facing, said that the most important problems in the country are the crisis of trust and morality. The Felicity Party leader used the following statements in his assessment: "I am in contact with all political parties. Everyone says this, 'How will we overcome this trust crisis?' they say. I tell them that in order to overcome the trust crisis, it is first necessary to be able to overcome the moral crisis. What is the moral crisis? The way to overcome the moral crisis is to be able to want for others whatever we want for ourselves."
