In the attack carried out by the US on a residence in Sirik, Iran, where a wedding was held, 4 people lost their lives and 50 people were injured. Tensions in the conflict between the US and Iran escalated with new attacks. In a US airstrike on Sirik county in Iran's southern Hormozgan province, a residence where a wedding ceremony was being held was targeted.
DEATH TOLL IN WEDDING HOUSE RISES TO 4
Hormozgan Deputy Governor Ahmad Nefisi, speaking to Iranian state television, announced that the death toll from the attack on a residence hosting a wedding ceremony in Kuhestek city, affiliated with Sirik county, has risen to 4.
Nefisi reported that 50 people were also injured in the attack. In the initial statement, the death toll had been announced as at least 2.
BALLISTIC MISSILE FROM IRAN AT US BASE IN JORDAN
Following the attack on the wedding house, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced it had retaliated.
In a statement from the Revolutionary Guards, it was stated that the "Camp Titin" base belonging to the US Marines in Jordan was targeted with ballistic missiles.
While it was noted that the attack was carried out in response to the US striking the wedding house in Sirik, the Iranian side claimed that many US soldiers were killed in the attack. There has been no confirmation yet from the US regarding this claim.
KAMIKAZE DRONE ATTACK ON US BASE IN BAHRAIN
Iran's retaliation was not limited to Jordan. The Iranian army announced that it also targeted the Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain in response to attacks on regions in the south of the country.
The Public Relations Unit of the Iranian Army reported that the attack was carried out within the scope of the 29th phase of the "Thunder" operation.
In the statement, it was stated that radar facilities at Sheikh Isa Air Base and centers where US soldiers were located were hit with kamikaze drones.
In the statement from the Iranian army, it was said, "The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran targeted the radar facilities at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain and the centers where American terrorist forces are gathered with intense destructive drone attacks."
IRAN: ATTACKS WILL CONTINUE
The Iranian army, stating that Sheikh Isa Air Base is one of the important US military points in the Persian Gulf, noted that helicopter and drone parts are maintained and repaired at the base, and reconnaissance aircraft are also deployed.
The Tehran administration reported that attacks against the US will continue.
US HAD LAUNCHED ATTACK IN IRAN
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) had announced it launched attacks on targets of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Iran.
Following the statement from the US military, the Iranian press reported that explosion sounds were heard on Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas, Sirik, Chabahar, and Konarak. Iranian state television also announced that Jiroft Airport in Kerman province was targeted.
Thus, following the US attack in Sirik, Iran responded by announcing that it targeted the US base in Jordan with ballistic missiles and the Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain with kamikaze drones.
