WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
On January 3rd, more than 150 fighter jets, drones, helicopters, and special forces took off from 20 U.S.-affiliated air bases and launched an attack on the Fuerte Tiuna Military Base located southwest of Caracas, Venezuela's capital, at 01:45 local time. In the attacks, more than 100 people, including 47 Venezuelan soldiers and 32 Cuban special security forces, lost their lives.
In addition to Fuerte Tiuna, La Carlota Air Base, La Guaira Port, El Libertador Air Base, and Higuerote Airport were also targeted by U.S. airstrikes.
