A 45-year-old man named Turgut Varol, who was poisoned by mushrooms he bought at the market in the Mudurnu district of Bolu, stated that his health is improving. Varol recounted that he was found unconscious by his landlord and was taken to the hospital. He mentioned that he experienced nausea after eating the mushrooms and does not remember what happened afterward. Varol, who indicated that he bought the poisonous mushrooms from the Mudurnu market, advised citizens not to purchase mushrooms.
Turgut Varol, a 45-year-old man from Mudurnu district of Bolu, who was poisoned by mushrooms he bought from the market last month and found unconscious two days later, is recovering well. After being poisoned, Varol stated, "No one should buy mushrooms."
Turgut Varol (45), who was poisoned by mushrooms he bought from a vendor at Mudurnu Market on November 17, was found unconscious by his landlord two days later. Following the incident, Varol was taken by ambulance to Bolu İzzet Baysal Training and Research Hospital, where he spent two days in the intensive care unit. He was then transferred to Ankara Etlik City Hospital for the completion of his treatment. After regaining his health there, Varol returned to Mudurnu. Turgut Varol, whose health is improving, recounted the day he was poisoned and how it happened.
"NAUSEA STARTED AFTER EATING THE MUSHROOM"
Turgut Varol said, "I was poisoned by the mushroom. I bought the mushroom, but I didn't know if it contained any toxic substances. I brought the mushroom home, cleaned it, and then put it in the pan. That evening, I ate the mushroom. After eating, nausea started. I don't remember anything after vomiting twice. My landlord, Kenan, found me. The last thing I remember is opening my eyes while being taken to the hospital. They told me in the ambulance, 'You are poisoned, we are taking you to the hospital.' I stayed at Bolu İzzet Baysal Training and Research Hospital for two days. After that, they sent me to Ankara Etlik City Hospital," he said.
"I BOUGHT THE MUSHROOM FROM MUDURNU MARKET"
Varol, who stated that he bought the poisonous mushroom from Mudurnu Market, said, "I bought the mushroom from Mudurnu Market. I bought Kanlıca Mushroom, which is a type of mushroom I know, but it probably got contaminated from the other mushrooms nearby. From now on, I will eat mushrooms only if I pick them myself. Many people have been poisoned after me. But since they were with others, they noticed quickly and received treatment promptly. I was found two days later because I live alone," he said.
"NO ONE SHOULD BUY MUSHROOMS"
Turgut Varol, who was poisoned by cultivated mushrooms, advised citizens not to buy mushrooms and to pick them themselves. Varol stated, "I think no one should buy mushrooms. If they want, they can pick them themselves. The poisonous mushrooms nearby affect the other mushrooms," he said.
