HE INTRODUCED HIMSELF AS A DEPUTY CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR AND DEMANDED 1.8 MILLION LIRA
H.Ç., an official of a car rental company in Antalya, reported to the police on October 16 that he had faced a fraud attempt. According to H.Ç.'s complaint, a woman who introduced herself as the Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor of Antalya claimed that she could conclude a case concerning a real estate dispute being heard at the Finike Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The suspect woman demanded 1 million 800 thousand lira from H.Ç. in return for the case being concluded as desired. Upon the high amount of money demanded, an investigation was launched with the complaint of the company official, who applied to the police.
THEY SENT A FAKE COURT DECISION VIA WHATSAPP
In the examination initiated by police teams, the method used by the suspects to persuade citizens was also revealed. It was determined that the fraud suspects sent the victim a fake decision text bearing the heading Antalya Regional Court of Justice, 6th Civil Chamber. It was established that the document sent via WhatsApp was not a real court decision. It was assessed that the suspects tried to create trust in the victims with documents they prepared using the names of official institutions.
THEY ALSO DEFRAUDED A CAR DEALER AND A RETIRED POLICE OFFICER
Teams that deepened the investigation revealed that other people had also been defrauded using the same method. In the examinations, it was determined that the suspects took 1 million 400 thousand lira from car dealer A.G. and 150 thousand lira from retired police officer A.H.D. Thus, the total amount of money taken from the two people reached 1 million 550 thousand lira.
