After the controversial goal in the Sivasspor–Amed Sportif Faaliyetler match, VAR referee Alper Çetin and AVAR referee Serkan Çimen resigned.
In the 22nd week of the Trendyol 1st League, Özbelsan Sivasspor drew 1-1 at home against Amed Sportif Faaliyetler. The match was marked by the goal scored by Amed Sportif's Mbaye Diagne in the 57th minute, which was reviewed by VAR due to offside suspicion. Despite the review of the position, the goal decision was not changed.
DEVELOPMENTS AFTER THE CONTROVERSIAL GOAL
After the match, the Sivasspor side made serious objections regarding the incident. Sivasspor President Burak Özçoban went to the Turkish Football Federation to take necessary steps following the referee's mistake.
AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE CLUB
Sivasspor Club stated in a post-match announcement titled "Second Offside-like Incident" that the footage of the position was examined in detail, and they emphasized that they were careful not to make a hasty public statement before the official evaluations were completed.
TWO REFEREES RESIGNED
Following the developments, it was announced that VAR referee Alper Çetin and AVAR referee Serkan Çimen resigned from their duties. Thus, the number of referee resignations experienced by Sivasspor this season increased to two. Previously, referee Mustafa İlker Coşkun had also resigned after the incorrect penalty awarded in the semi-final match against Galatasaray in the Turkish Cup.

Sivasspor President Burak Özçoban stated in his remarks on the matter, "The goal we conceded in the Amedspor match was offside. VAR referee Alper Çetin and AVAR referee Serkan Çimen admitted their mistakes and they resigned. Necessary actions have been taken," he said.
