The wave of protests is growing around the world. After incidents in France where luxury stores were looted and hundreds of people were detained, demonstrations were also held in other European countries, while thousands of people took to the streets in the US, Argentina, and India. Reactions to the economic crisis, the cost of living, education policies, and political developments have turned into mass actions on different continents.

Following protests in France in which luxury stores were looted and hundreds of people were detained, mass demonstrations also came onto the agenda in different countries around the world. In addition to the actions in Europe, crowds also took to the streets in the US, Argentina, and India. The protests, held for different reasons, brought social tensions experienced in many parts of the world back onto the agenda.

STREETS ERUPTED IN FRANCE

In France, hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets to protest problems in the education system, the high cost of living, and disruptions in public services. Clashes broke out between police and protesters in some of the demonstrations held in many cities, especially Paris, Marseille, Lyon, and Limoges.

Luxury stores were looted while public buildings were set on fire. French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced that more than 1,200 people were detained and 150 police officers were injured in the incidents.

PROTESTS ARE ALSO TAKING PLACE IN OTHER EUROPEAN COUNTRIES

In addition to the events in France, crowds protesting economic conditions also took to the streets in Belgium, Italy, and Portugal.

Rising living costs, housing prices, and education expenses were among the prominent reasons for the protests. In demonstrations held in various European cities, citizens called on governments to find solutions to economic problems.

ANTI-TRUMP PROTESTS IN THE US

The protests were not limited to European countries. In the US, actions were also carried out in many cities as part of the "No Kings" demonstrations organized against President Donald Trump's administration.

At the demonstrations held on October 17, protesters called on voters to go to the polls ahead of the upcoming midterm elections. Crowds gathered around the Lincoln Memorial in Washington carried banners about the right to vote.

STUDENTS POURED INTO THE STREETS IN ARGENTINA

In the South American country of Argentina, reactions grew against President Javier Milei's administration's reduction of the budget allocated to universities.

On October 15, thousands of students and education workers gathered in front of the National Congress building in the capital, Buenos Aires.

Protesters opposed cuts to the education budget and demanded that more resources be allocated to universities. The protesters criticized economic conditions as well as education policies.

ELECTION DISPUTE SPILLED INTO THE STREETS IN INDIA

In India, changes made to voter lists also led to mass demonstrations. In the capital, New Delhi, thousands of people staged a protest demanding the resignation of Election Commission Chief Gyanesh Kumar.

Opposition groups reacted to the removal of millions of people from voter lists, while the government rejected accusations of discrimination regarding the regulations in question.

Security forces detained more than 2,000 people in previously held demonstrations.

SIMULTANEOUS PROTESTS IN DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE WORLD

The demonstrations stretching from France to the US and from Argentina to India revealed that reactions to social and economic problems are growing in different countries.

While the high cost of living and education budgets came to the fore in Europe and Argentina, political administration and voting rights were at the center of debates in the US, and voter lists in India.

The common point of these actions, organized for different reasons, was that broad masses voiced their demands in the streets.
