A woman who moved into the same house as her boyfriend left the house after the expense breakdown her boyfriend sent. Calculating the electricity, internet, and grocery expenses one by one, the man claimed that his girlfriend ate more food at home and demanded a higher share of the grocery expense. Adding the gasoline cost for the days she used his car, he demanded a total of 19,500 Turkish lira.

In a WhatsApp conversation shared on social media, the boyfriend was seen to have calculated electricity and internet expenses as 3,240 TL and grocery shopping as 9,800 TL.

The man argued that his girlfriend, who works from home, benefited more from the groceries, and stated that he did not find splitting the expenses equally fair.

In his message, he said, 'Also, I eat at work at noon on most days; since you work from home, you use the groceries at home more. So splitting the groceries 50/50 did not seem very fair to me. I calculated your share as 6,500.'

HE ALSO CALCULATED THE DAYS SHE USED HIS CAR

Her boyfriend's calculation did not stop there. Reminding her that she had used his car four times last month, the man also included the gasoline expense in the calculation. At the end of his message, he said, 'Also, you used my car 4 times last month; if we add the gas, you need to send a total of 19,500.'

SHE LEFT THE HOUSE AFTER THE MESSAGE

It was reported that the woman, upon seeing the detailed expense breakdown from her boyfriend, left the house they lived in together. The conversation, which became a trending topic on social media, sparked a debate about how couples should share joint living expenses.
