After the truth was revealed by the City Security Management System (KGYS) cameras, the drunk driver, who was sought to be taken into custody, resisted the police officers, shouting, "They can't handcuff me, impossible," and hurled threats and insults at them.
THE TRUTH REVEALED BY KGYS CAMERAS
The incident occurred at the Kurtuluş Junction on Atatürk Boulevard. According to the information obtained, a minibus with license plate 50 UB 322, driven by Yunus K. (29), who was found to have 2.19 promil alcohol in his blood, collided with a car with license plate 68 ABS 646 driven by Cengiz Y. (44) and a car with license plate 68 AEE 951 driven by Orhan Y. (33) after the driver lost control of the steering wheel.
Upon the notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Yusuf K. (42), who was in the minibus, stated to the police teams that began an investigation that he was the one driving the vehicle. However, after the other drivers objected, the teams examining the KGYS cameras determined that the actual driver behind the wheel was Yunus K., the brother of Yusuf K.
RESISTED POLICE TRYING TO HANDCUFF HIM
When the truth was understood, Yunus K., who was called to face legal proceedings, created difficulties for the police teams. The drunk individual, who claimed he was not the driver and resisted being taken into custody, hurled insults and threats at the police officers trying to handcuff him, saying, "They can't handcuff me, impossible."
The driver, subdued with difficulty, was handcuffed and placed in the police vehicle. His mother, who arrived at the scene, obtained permission from the police to give water to her son in the vehicle's cage.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED AGAINST THE TWO BROTHERS
During the examination at the hospital, it was confirmed that Yunus K. had 2.19 promil alcohol in his blood, and an administrative fine was imposed on him for drunk driving, while the minibus was towed to the parking lot. The brother Yusuf K., who made false statements, and the drunk driver Yunus K. were taken into custody and brought to the police station. A judicial investigation was initiated by the Aksaray Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the two brothers for the crimes of "making false statements" and "driving under the influence of alcohol."
